India’s National Teacher’s Day celebrated |08 September 2021

The high commission of India celebrated India’s National Teacher’s Day at the Chancery premises on Monday.
Teacher’s Day in India is celebrated on September 5 which marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher, statesman and teacher who was the first Vice-President and the second President of Independent India.
The event that saw several Indian and Indian origin teachers in attendance began with a short documentary on the life of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Isidore Lopez and Selvi Karunakaran, two of the senior-most Indian and India-origin teachers shared their stories and experiences of teaching in 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ.
