Team 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ receive their official kit
It was a hectic day yesterday for members of the local Indian Ocean Islands Games secretariat who were handing over official kit to managers and representatives of the different sporting disciplines taking part in the Games.
The 11th Games are scheduled to begin on Friday, with the opening ceremony at the Barea Mahamasina Stadium in Antananarivo, where swimmer Felicity Passon will be 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’ flag bearer.
In total, 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ will be represented in 15 out of the 19 scheduled sporting events.
These are track and field athletics, basketball 5-a-side and 3-a-side, boxing, badminton, table tennis, football, cycling, weightlifting, judo, swimming, karate, handball, petanque, tennis and volleyball.
The first group of athletes leaves the country today onboard one of the three scheduled chartered flights by national carrier Air 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.
