Senior and young athletes finalists known

Following thorough deliberations, the selection committee for the Sports Awards of the Year 2023 selection committee has revealed the names of the 30 finalists in both male and female senior categories, as well the young male and female divisions.
For the 2023 awards, sports federations and associations had the opportunity to nominate five athletes in order of preference – one to five – in the senior male and female categories.Ìý In the young male and female categories, sports federations and associations were allowed to nominate three athletes – one to three.
It is was on January 31 that the nominees were shortlisted to 10 finalists in the senior male and female categories, while in the young athletes categories, there are five finalists in both the male and female classes.
It is to note that the last time the Sports Awards of the Year crowning ceremony was held was in 2020 to reward the best athletes for the sporting year 2019.
The traditional award ceremony will take place on March 1 at the National Sports Council (NSC) Hall.
