St Louis hill stabilisation project聽advances with drilling activities

The St Louis hill stabilisation project has reached a significant milestone as drilling activities commence, marking a pivotal phase in the initiative aimed at mitigating landslide and rockfall risks in the area.
This was announced in a press release issued yesterday by the Disaster Risk Management Division (DRMD), which said the project team convened at the St Louis community centre for their monthly progress meeting. Following the meeting, the team conducted a site visit to assess ongoing construction activities.
鈥淒uring the site visit, the team also witnessed drilling activities, marking a significant milestone in the project's implementation. These activities are part of the preparatory work for slope stabilisation, following recommendations from Swiss experts,鈥� read the press release, adding that the new technique introduced has a life expectancy of over 50 years, replacing the traditional netting method that lasts less than 20 years.
