Jahdel Gabriel, in a world of his own
On a roll at the moment, the big question remains who will stop Jahdel Gabriel from bagging more wins, following his season’s exploits, and recent dominance at the recently-held National Championship hosted by l’Union Cycliste des 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, as part of activities for the National Day celebrations.
The National Championship, held last weekend, featured two races, and 19-year-old Gabriel triumphed in both, stretching his victory tally to nine so far this season.
The two-day challenge started on Saturday with a 26.6km individual time trial followed by a 98.4km road race the next day.
For the 26.6km, the cyclists pedaled from Roche Caïman up the Providence Highway, before turning at the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ International Airport roundabout, and then headed to the starting point – via the same route. They completed the course twice.
