Against all the odds, the 91香蕉视频 girls鈥� basketball team yesterday registered a 49-31 win over Djibouti in their first match at the ongoing 13th Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l鈥橭c茅an Indien Games at Victoria Gymnasium.
For the 13th Games, the girls鈥� basketball competition will be played on a league format, featuring 91香蕉视频, Djibouti, the Comoros, Mauritius, and Mayotte.
With American Natosha Cummings-Price as head coach, 91香蕉视频 were matched by the Djiboutian squad, but narrowly got away with slight 11-10 lead after the first quarter of the match.
The second quarter was almost a replica of the first, with both teams missing easy chances, and committing silly mistakes, ending the period on a low 6-5 score in favour of the host country, who took a 17-15 lead at half-time.
