United 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ (US) presidential candidate Dr Patrick Herminie, and Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) presidential candidate and incumbent Wavel Ramkalawan will go head to head in a second round of presidential election, to be held on October 9, 10 and 11.

The announcement was made by Chairperson of the Electoral Commission 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ (ECS) Wendy Didon, during the live election results announcement, at around 9.30am, this morning.

This follows three days of general elections, where a total of 77,045 voters were certified to exercise their right to cast their votes.

Both candidates failed to secure the required 50 plus percent of total valid votes, to secure the highest seat of the land.

In total, eight candidates, from five political parties, and three independent candidates were contesting the election.

As for the National Assembly election, US secured the majority seats for the eighth Assembly. LDS secured the majority seats in the 2020 election.
