At just 28 years old, Shahiid Melanie, founder of Ocean Growth Fertiliser (OGF), is transforming fish waste into valuable organic fertiliser, offering a circular, homegrown solution to two pressing national challenges: waste management and food security. Registered on September 29, 2023, OGF began much earlier as a family experiment. 鈥淚t all started with the aim to add new ways of farming to my dad鈥檚 farm,鈥� said Shahiid. 鈥淲e have never used chemicals before; we mostly use ash, manure and compost,鈥� Shahiid explained.
