UAE President calls on 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ President |13 August 2022

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh MohammedÌýbin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is presently on holiday in 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ, paid a courtesy call onÌýPresident Wavel Ramkalawan at State House yesterday morning.
Sheikh MohammedÌýbin Zayed Al Nahyan was accompanied on this visit by the executive director of Crown Prince Court, Salem Alneyadi, the charge d'affaires of the embassy of UAE, Ahmed Alneyadi, the deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, HH Sheikh mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister for Industry and Advanced Technology, Minister sultan Al Jaber and advisor to the president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamedalnahyan.
The two heads of state held talks behind closed doors.
This was followed by the signing of the guest book by Sheikh MohammedÌýbin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The President of the United Arab Emirates was on his first official visit to 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ since his election on May 14, 2022, following the demise of his brother, the late H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ and United Arab Emirates established diplomatic relations in December 1982 and the two countries have since implemented various projects of mutual interest.
Over the years, 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ has benefitted through various socio-economic projects including housing, health and education.
In April this year, 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ signed an agreement with the United Arab Emirates to modernise and transform its public service.
The UAE is also funding the construction of a new state-of-the-art hospital at L’Union Estate, La Digue, through a donation of around $4 million.
