- Reunion and Mauritius show 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ women’s selection the exit

For the inaugural beach volleyball tournament at the Indian Ocean Islands Games (IOIG) the 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ men’s team will have the chance to grab the Games’ first ever bronze medal, while the women’s selection will go back home empty-handed.
After being eliminated in the team events, Team 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ had the chance to compete in the singles which started yesterday at the Mont Choisy Beach Volleyball Arena in Mauritius.
The women’s competition is being played on a round-robin system, while the men’s is being contested on a knockout format.
In the women’s competition, 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ lost their first group match 1-2 (12-21, 22-20, 10-15) against Reunion, while in their second match, the Terryl Songoire and Nathalie Agnes-Sauer duo were defeated 2-1 by a Mauritian pair. The set scores were 17-21, 21-18 and 8-15.
In the men’s tournament, Guilly Bijoux and Jerry Lozaique lost their match against 0-2 (17-21, 13-21) against Mauritius.
They will be in action again today against Maldives for the bronze medal.
